Shoalcoast Community Legal Centre is currently in the process of rebranding to South Coast and Country Community Law.

Community Legal Education

As part of our mission to make law more accessible to all, South Coast & Country Community Law offers Community Legal Education (CLE) to groups of community workers and service providers.
We can tailor legal education to address the concerns of the audience. We use plain English to explain the law to help the audience understand legal topics as they relate to the clients they support.

Contact us to request a session for your team.

Examples of Community Legal Education we offer are:

  • Planning Ahead – an overview of wills, powers of attorney, and guardianship tailored for service workers with seniors
  • Family Law  – Parenting and Property basics, AVOs and Family Violence
  • Understanding ADVs
  • Making Victims Support Applications – how to apply to Victims Services for counselling, immediate needs support, recognition payment, complex issues, and gathering evidence.
  • Domestic Abuse Awareness – learn to recognise and refer. Suitable for non DV case workers.
  • Coercive Control about the law, how the offences works, what is coercive control.
  • Dealing with Debts
